Yes, I can finally cross it off my bucket list: the Barranquilla Carnival! It’s time to experience this iconic celebration up close and I’m so excited – everyone needs a party. When I arrived in Barranquilla, I immediately broke out in a sweat! It was quite a transition from the cool of Bogotá to the warm, tropical Barranquilla.

Before the party started, I visited an old friend, Laura. We had a great time and I asked her if she wanted to come with me to the carnival. She enthusiastically said yes and later that evening she asked if her family could come too. Of course, I was happy to do so.

The next day we met at the entrance of the party. It was an unforgettable experience, full of color, music and fun.
